An Android app that gave a coaching institute a way to teach outside classroom hours.
[ THE PROBLEM ]
Teaching stopped the moment students left the building.
[Placeholder client] taught 400 students across three batches. Anything a student missed was gone, and parents had no visibility into whether their child was keeping up.
Notes were being shared through WhatsApp groups that quickly became unusable — important material buried under hundreds of messages.
[ WHAT WE BUILT ]
- Recorded video lessons organised by subject, batch and chapter
- Practice tests with instant scoring and worked solutions
- A doubt-clearing thread where students ask a teacher directly
- Weekly progress summaries sent automatically to parents
- Downloadable notes that work without a connection
- An admin panel for teachers to upload content without our help
[ HOW WE WORKED ]
We interviewed students, teachers and parents separately. Parents cared about progress, students cared about speed — so the app opens straight to the next lesson rather than a dashboard.
Most students were on entry-level Android phones with limited data. We compressed video aggressively and made every lesson downloadable over Wi-Fi for offline viewing.
Teachers were trained to publish content themselves. The institute has added over 200 lessons since launch without contacting us.
